When you join the Therapeutic Behavioral Services Team, you’ll provide strengths-based services to young people across San Joaquin County. Our diverse team of Clinicians, Support Counselors, Supervisors and Directors work together to ensure the health and safety of youth by providing home based services centered on improving behavior and strengthening social and emotional competency.

Your Impact

As a Support Counselor II you will find yourself on the front lines of behavioral health service delivery. You will have daily opportunities to meet with clients and family members across San Joaquin County. We meet young people at their most vulnerable times, build on their strengths, respect their voice and support them through challenges as they develop new and more successful coping skills. The successes youth build upon throughout service delivery allows them to be prepared to overcome future obstacles and maintain hope moving forward.

Your Skills and Duties

  • Provide field based support to youth in their home or community settings.
  • Identify interventions and coping skills to support identified behaviors.
  • Role model alternative strategies for care givers and youth.
  • Collaborate with treatment team on youth and family treatment plans.

Complete program required documentation including Medi-Cal billing documentation per County Standards.

Education & Work Experience

  • BA or BS Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Nursing or a related field

Or

  • Completion of 45 college semester units in Psychology, Social Work, Nursing or a related field plus 2 full time equivalent years’ experience working with emotionally challenged youth.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
