Since its inception in 2009, the Comprehensive Multi-Dimensional Family Resource Team of Ventura (CMFRT) has served over 45 families who have experienced a variety of challenges. Our team of Family Case Managers, Youth Partners, and Parent Partners offer specialized help to match the unique needs of each and every family. Services include development of strategies, interventions, and community resources that help the child and family to overcome the issues they are facing while empowering them to work together as a family-unit. Aspiranet’s purpose is to always put the best interests of the child first, and by doing so, offering resources to allow families to grow towards being more cohesive.
With the goal of early intervention, CMFRT is designed to prevent youth from entering residential care and or the child welfare system. With more than 9,000 referrals to the child abuse hotline in Ventura County in 2009 alone, Aspiranet works closely with the community and county services in reaching out to those in need. Referrals for this program are made by the Ventura County Human Service Agency, Ventura County Behavioral Health, Ventura County Probation Agency, and Ventura County Public Health Department. A rather new and successful program, CMFRT hopes to reduce the need for a child to be removed from their home or residential placement, a decrease in the number of substantiated child abuse/neglect reports in the county, an increase in the emotional well-being and feelings of competence for all family members, and an expansion of the family’s network of community supports in which they can all access.
