Employee Benefits
Aspiranet strives to meet the diverse needs of our employees by offering a
wide range of choices in our benefits package. Our offerings are designed to
help employees meet their personal, family, and financial needs, and are
listed in categories below.
- Aspiranet offers a competitive, comprehensive benefits program for all
full-time employees (35 – 40 hours per week) and their dependents, with a
portion of the costs absorbed by the employer.
- Health benefits start 90 days from the first day of the month following hire
date.
Medical Plans
Our health benefits offer peace of mind,
protection for the unexpected, and can help employees take care of
themselves and their families. Employees may choose medical benefits from
Kaiser, PacifiCare HMO or PacifiCare PPO, including low co-pays for doctor
visits and prescription drugs. High and Low Option plans with each of our
carriers provide employees more choice in calculating out-of-pocket premiums
and medical expenses.
Dental Plan
Dental insurance coverage is provided
by Safe Guard. Employees have the choice of either a Dental DMO (in-network
providers) or Dental PPO which offers additional dental providers for a
small, monthly out-of-pocket premium.
Vision
Vision coverage is a supplemental benefit
provided by Blue Cross Blue View. The vision plan is a materials-only plan
where employees first go through their medical provider to obtain eye exams;
then they can purchase cost-reimbursed lenses or contacts once a year and
frames every 2 years at a participating vision materials provider.
Life Insurance/EAP
Life insurance offers financial
protection for employees and their families in case of death. Aspiranet
provides all eligible employees with life insurance as well as behavioral
health services. Jefferson Pilot Financial is the administrator of our
group life insurance plan. The benefit provides for a $25,000 life
insurance policy with an additional $25,000 for ADD. Horizon Health
provides employees with a confidential 800 number to access behavioral
health services and financial and legal consultation free of charge through
their Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
Retirement Plan
Our plans help our employees save
and invest for their financial security. Eligible employees (1000 hours per
year) are enrolled in the Agency-sponsored retirement plan (401a profit
sharing plan) through Principal; on the first day of the month in January or
July, following 1 year of service. Employees are vested after 5 years of
service. Contributions are made by the Agency when annual surpluses are
realized. In addition, employees may invest, and are vested immediately,
with pre-tax salary deductions, into a 403 b offered by both Valic and
Mutual of America.
Voluntary Benefits
With so much at stake in your
personal and professional life, our voluntary benefits program includes some
of the most important decisions you will ever make. These decisions will
help you protect your future, and the future of your family. Aspiranet’s
voluntary benefits may be purchased through Jefferson Pilot Financial for
employees and their dependents such as life insurance, short and long term
disability Insurance. Medical and dependent care Flexible Spending Accounts
(FSA’s) may be purchased through Flex-Plan Services, Inc. and Cancer
Insurance through American Fidelity.
Credit Union
Credit unions are not-for-profit, and
exist to provide a safe, convenient place for members to save money and to
get loans at reasonable rates. Employees of Aspiranet may choose to belong
to Provident Credit Union or Golden One. Both offer low cost loans, IRA’s,
checking accounts, et al.
State Benefits
Unemployment insurance, disability
insurance, paid family leave, and worker’s compensation are all state
benefits offered to employees regardless of hours worked.
Vacation/Sick Leave/Holidays
Employees accrue 10
vacation days per year (prorated for part time employees) for rest,
relaxation, or personal pursuit. Vacation time may be requested after 6
months of regular employment. Employees are also eligible for 10 days of
sick pay per year which may be used immediately upon hire. After 3 years,
employees accrue 15 days of vacation, after 4 years, employees accrue 20
days, and after 9 years, employees accrue 25 days of vacation. Aspiranet
offers 10 paid holidays a year including a paid birthday holiday which must
be taken within 30 days of the yearly event.
